five on friday

1. I looked at my blog today and saw that the last time I posted was November 19th. That's terrible! I'll try to catch you up on the month and a half that in this 'five on friday.'

2. We went to Nepal in the middle of December. Our visa requires us to leave the country every six months, so headed to Kathmandu for a few days. We were able to see the Himalayas as we flew in on the airplane, but our mountain adventures ended there. We spent our time shopping around and enjoying some winter temperatures. We actually bought heavy winter jackets... something I didn't ever expect to buy after we moved to India!

3. Christmas was simple this year... homemade ornaments, quiet evenings, and celebrating our Savior's birth. It was definitely different than the holidays we are used to, but I LOVED it. Our family used Truth in the Tinsel. It's such a unique way to share the story of Jesus' birth. My boys BEGGED for it each night!

(Here's a quick picture of our Christmas Eve movie night!)

4. DID I MENTION MY PARENTS ARE IN INDIA? They arrived here on Monday. It's been so much fun showing them around. Finally I have someone back home that can understand the madness of this place. They've been champs. My mom hasn't figured out that people stare at her because she's white. She offers all who stare a little southern hospitality in the form of a friendly wave. If you see a white lady riding on the back of a scooter waving proudly at everyone she passes, it's likely my mom! :) Be on the lookout for a blog devoted solely to their visit.

5. Here's a little math to keep your brain working:

What does this:

Luckily those blond curls hide three-year old haircuts well!

Enjoy your weekend, friends! I hope your new year is off to a great start!
